Camp: DEAN Fellowship Grades: 9th, 10th Price: $1499/3-week session Ready to lead? The DEAN Fellowship is your next chapter. The DEAN Fellowship is an immersive leadership experience for high school students seeking hands-on professional development in a dynamic, fun summer camp environment. In a world where meaningful hands-on work experiences for teenagers are increasingly rare, DEAN’s Fellowship program offers something exceptional: the chance to develop real leadership skills while making a genuine impact on a vibrant community, all while building lasting friendships with others who share your drive and curiosity. This program is all about bridging the gap between being a camper and joining our team of counselors by preparing our fellows to develop essential leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while gaining valuable experience working with children and adult professionals. Over the three-week intensive, under the guidance of DEAN's Fellow Advisor, fellows rotate through various camp departments, shadowing instructors, supporting operations, and solving real challenges as they arise. Daily workshops led by experienced staff sharpen your skills in entrepreneurship, creative problem-solving, and collaboration, with guest speakers bringing real-world context to the principles being practiced. But it's not all work: Fellows enjoy daily lunch together, afternoon swim or a socialization break, team-building challenges, group reflections, and plenty of time to connect with fellow participants. These moments of connection and fun are woven throughout each day, creating a balance between meaningful work and the joy of summer. Join us this summer and discover how the DEAN Fellowship program ignites passion while creating experiences that inspire the next generation of leaders. H Haverford Dates:

Camp: Innovation Lab Grades: 3rd, 4th Price: $680/week Design. Innovate. Create! Innovation Lab Explorers takes making to the next level, where campers dive deeper into engineering, design thinking, and hands-on problem-solving. Building on foundational skills, Explorers tackle more complex projects that challenge them to plan, prototype, and refine their creations using a wider range of materials and tools. Throughout the week, campers work with cardboard, wood, foam, wheels, axles, simple circuits, hand tools, glue guns, and building kits to bring their ideas to life. They might engineer a working drawbridge, construct a marble maze with moving parts, build a light-up constellation, or design a vehicle that races down a ramp. Each project introduces real engineering concepts like balance, force, circuits, and structural design—all while keeping the focus on creativity and experimentation. With guidance from skilled instructors, Explorers learn to measure more precisely, follow multi-step plans, troubleshoot when things don't work, and improve their designs through testing. Using professional palettes and tools, they’ll practice layering color, texture, and dimension to make their effects look strikingly real. Along the way, campers build resilience as they refine tricky techniques, creativity as they design original characters, and responsibility as they work carefully with specialized materials. By the end of the week, families will be amazed by the startlingly lifelike (and sometimes spooky) makeups these young artists reveal. H Haverford Dates:

Where curiosity meets discovery every day!
Playful Discoverers is DEAN's foundational camp experience for PreK and Kindergarten campers, where learning happens through play, imagination, and hands-on exploration. Each day unfolds through five activity blocks: Art, Movement, Water Activities, Nature, and STEAM. Giving campers the chance to explore new ideas, materials, and ways of expressing themselves. Campers might paint and build, splash and play during water activities, investigate the outdoors, conduct experiments, or move through games and dances. Along the way, friendships form, confidence grows, and campers experience the joy of trying something new in a supportive setting. This rotating structure reflects how young children learn best, through variety, repetition, and play, while offering comforting routines that help campers feel secure. Week after week, campers become more familiar with activities, skills deepen, and independence takes shape, setting the stage for their journey with DEAN. H Haverford Dates:

Trailblazers Juniors welcomes campers into a world of discovery, exploration, achievement, and navigating across four exciting daily activity rotations: Outdoor Adventure, Innovation Lab, Art, and Culinary Arts. Each day, campers rotate through hands-on activities designed to introduce them to new skills, spark curiosity, and build confidence through joyful making. Along the way, they discover what excites them. Maybe it's the satisfaction of hammering nails into wood, the magic of watching colors blend, the thrill of tasting something they cooked, or the adventure of exploring the outdoors. Every rotation plants a seed, helping campers begin to imagine where their camp journey might take them next. Guided by enthusiastic counselors, Juniors practice collaboration as they work side by side with friends, creativity as they bring ideas to life, and resilience as they try new things with courage and curiosity. 2026 Weekly Rates:

- February 1–28: $705 per week
- March 1–31: $730 per week

Extended Hours for Your Convenience
We understand the demands of family and work life. Trying to be in seven places we know is not possible. We decided that our camp day would complement more realistic schedules without any additional costs. Our formal camp day runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but we created a flexible drop-off schedule. Campers can be dropped off any time between 7:30 - 9 am. and pick up any time between 3:30 - 5:30 pm, all for one price.
A Beautiful Location
We are incredibly fortunate to have a strong partnership with Haverford College, which enables us to provide an exceptional camp experience. While we are always mindful of the costs, it's important to note that we chose this location to create a safe, inspiring, and enriching environment for our campers, complete with top-notch security, maintenance, and facilities.

DO CAMPERS GET TO SWIM?
We are excited to share that campers entering 1st grade will be a part of a 30-minute daily free swim period each day, weather permitting. Free swim means this is a time for campers to play and enjoy the water. Swim lessons are currently not offered at this time. Those who decide not to swim can participate in other recess activities.
Campers entering Pre-K and Kindergarten will also have the opportunity to participate in daily water activities, including slip-and-slide, water twisters, reusable water-balloon games, and more. Water activities are also optional; those who decide not to swim can participate in other recess-style activities.
As part of our commitment to safety and providing a fun experience for all campers, the pool is managed by certified lifeguards and will be supervised by DEAN staff.
As of right now, swim lessons are not offered, but we are looking into the possibility for summer 2027. So stay tuned!
We will share a detailed overview in mid-May to help you prepare for summer camp. The overview will include swim assessment details, safety protocols, and alternative activities for those who opt out of swimming and water activities.
-
Do campers need to be toilet-trained to attend camp?
Yes, all campers must be fully toilet-trained to attend DEAN Adventure Camps. "Fully toilet-trained" means your child can independently:
- Recognize when they need to use the bathroom
- Manage their clothing on their own
- Clean themselves properly
- Wash their hands afterward
We know accidents can happen, and our caring staff is always available to offer gentle reminders and support. In general, campers should be comfortable managing bathroom routines without direct assistance.
Have questions about whether your child is ready? We're here to help, just reach out!

What is DEAN's partnership with Haverford College's Psychology Department?
DEAN is proud to partner with the psychology departments at Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges. This collaboration serves a dual purpose: it advances academic research in childhood development and ensures the continuous enhancement of our camp programs.
By working together, we contribute to important research on how children flourish socially, emotionally, and cognitively in a camp setting. In turn, our counselor training and programming are continually updated to reflect the latest evidence-based best practices, directly benefiting our campers with more enriching experiences.
Participation in any research conducted will be voluntary. Families will be informed in advance and must actively opt in for their camper to participate. If you choose not to opt in, your camper will not be involved, and we appreciate your understanding.
